My first encounter with the lovely and now iconic Lara Croft was back in the 90s and it was Tomb Raider on the original PlayStation. The tricky, yet addictive gameplay left me coming back to this game years after it first released, and still to this day I have not been able to finish that game. Now here we are years later, the console is the PlayStation 3 and I have just finished Tomb Raider, not the ’96 release but the 2013 release, and this is what a game should be like.

I remember a game on my old NES when I first got it back in the late 80s, the game was Metal Gear and it had one of the worst translations in any game I had ever encountered but at that time I played through any game I had no matter how the game played, sounded or looked. That was how we played games back in those days. But since that humble beginning the Metal Gear franchise has not only prospered it has flourished into one of the most classic gaming series ever and made the creator Hideo Kojima a voice to be reckoned with within the gaming community and also gave the series a cult-like following. Years have passed and we have finally gotten a new Metal Gear game and this time it is called Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
